The analog photographic process recurs once again in Viriya’s latest work. growth (2021) arrays the moment of time visible to us in a form of phototropism, the turning movement of biological organisms, usually a plant, in response to a light stimulus. The work beautifully unites this relationship of light in the process, both conceptually and in physical appearances, of photography and natural form.
